Overhead storage units are constructed from 18-gauge formed furniture-grade metal, and finished in a high-quality baked enamel. All outer vertical edges are radiused. Side and doors are double wall thickness; the back panel is single-wall.
Overhead storage units come with flipper doors OR sliding doors. Storage units with flipper doors and lock (note: 60", 66" and 72" overheads have two flipper doors) have doors that flip up and slide into the cabinet for safety. Storage units with sliding doors have a high-pressure plastic laminate top, with standard 3mm edge band. The top is securely fastened to the steel sides and back panels. The sliding doors are of plastic laminate and move on nylon slides. Flush finger pulls are fitted, as is a lock and suitable bumpering.
Overhead storage units come supplied with an upholstered tackboard (the fabric colour must be specified from the Calstone fabric chart). One wire management channel is provided on the tackboard's side for task lighting wires. Wire openings are also provided on the back bottom right and left of units.
Overhead storage units sit on desk tops of the corresponding size and are secured with double-sided tape.
